Music in the Park

The free Wednesday evening concert series, Music in the Park has begun under Governor Walz's new COVID-19 guidelines. Bring a lawn chair or sit in your car to hear the sound of music.

The idea to start up the concert series again surfaced after the city of Cook hosted a graduation celebration parade on River Street in downtown Cook. The citizens, most in protective face masks, gathered to congratulate the 2020 North Woods graduates. The orderly and enthusiastic crowd practiced social distancing and seemed grateful to see friends and neighbors, even if from a distance.

Eric Pederson , music coordinator for Cook's Music in the Park, will kick off the 2020 concert season Wednesdays on June 17th and 24th at 6 pm. The Beefeater Brothers is Eric’s band and they have performed many Wednesdays for Cook. The band includes Eric Pederson & Mike Randolph and will feature Jimmy Laine on drums and Anna Pederson on vocals. The band will also feature their large selection of musical friends that "sit in" on occasion. "We are lucky to live in an area that supports live music" says Pederson. We also have an abundance of talent on the Iron Range.

Here is the lineup for Cook’s Music in the Park 2020, Wednesdays, 6 to 8 p.m:
